The Kroc Institute is pleased to announce that three scholars specializing in conflict and peace have begun their terms as visiting research fellows during the 2015-16 academic year.
- Selina Gallo-Cruz, assistant professor of sociology at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., will research women’s roles in nonviolent social movements and post-conflict peacebuilding, focusing on women in Argentina, Serbia and Liberia.
- Barbara Koremenos, associate professor of political science at the University of Michigan, will study the relationship between Islamic States and international law, examining how this relationship affects Islamic States’ participation in international agreements.
- Emily Rosser, who holds a Ph.D. in gender, feminist and women’s studies from York University in Toronto, will study grassroots approaches to gender and genocide in Guatemala, focusing on how these approaches affect transitional justice measures.
Each year, the Visiting Research Fellows Program brings outstanding scholars (at the post-doctoral and senior scholar level) to the Kroc Institute to conduct research, collaborate with faculty, and participate in the life of the Kroc Institute and Notre Dame.
